Dr. George Adams is an Interventional Cardiologist currently practicing at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.
He completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern, and his General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Masters of Health Sciences at Duke University. Most recently he attained a Masters of Business and Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In addition to his clinical role at UNC REX, he is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Director of Cardiovascular and Peripheral Vascular Research at UNC REX Hospital.
Dr. Adams is well-published in the field of complex peripheral vascular interventions in critical limb ischemic patients, development of regional systems of care for STEMI, and nuclear cardiology techniques. He currently leads a robust clinical research program enrolling patients in peripheral, carotid, and coronary trials. Additionally, he is involved with device development and teaching for the management of coronary and peripheral vascular disease. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Adams enjoys spending time on his farms with his three daughters.
